What is a Death Doula?

Advance Planning

Eco-Friendly Body Disposition

Advance Planning

It is never too early nor a bad time to contemplate one's death. A death doula (also known as end-of-life doula/midwife/coach) assists people in finding meaning, creating a legacy project, and planning for the final passage.

A doula cannot remove suffering but she can help soften it by guiding you and your loved ones in creating a vigil, ritual, and ceremony. The role of a death doula also includes education and empowerment of families to exercise their innate right to care for their own loved one.

The role of a death doula can include helping with planning funerals and memorial services, as well as guiding mourners in the realization of their rights and responsibilities. In recent years, the practice of natural interment (green burial) has made a comeback along with other, more environmentally sensitive options such as water cremation and recomposting.

Hi, I'm Kelli

My desire is to support you as you plan for a good death, either your own or your loved one. With years of experience in the hospice field, as well as mindful death practices, my individualized and death-positive approach will help you attain a deeper connection with nature through the sacred transition from life to death.

Professionalism and Experience

As a professionally trained and experienced end-of-life doula, home funeral guide, hospice volunteer and mindfulness instructor, I have the tools and understanding to help you to create the green death you imagine and get a renewed sense of life.

Creating a green death plan is a gift to yourself, your family and the world that is easier with social support. My commitment is to provide you with accepting, knowledgeable and gentle assistance during this time of transition.

My Aging and Death Story

This is my story of how a life threatening brain tumor taught me not only how to accept and embrace death, but also how to truly live life.
